We are looking for a Chemistry Lab Technician to conduct chemical laboratory tests to analyze chemicals for quality control, technical service, R&D and maintenance of environmental standards.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform all laboratory and manufacturing related tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
  2. Conduct laboratory testing to monitor product quality to ensure compliance to standards and specifications.
  3. Generate Certificates of Acceptance and Analysis.
  4. Ensure laboratory adherence to ISO9001 procedures and work instructions.
  5. Work closely with the manufacturing team to assist in:
    1. scheduling quality testing so that production proceeds as rapidly as possible
    2. assist in re-work of work-in-process
    3. disposition of non-conforming product from the floor or the field.
  6. Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, physical and chemical analysis techniques, and microscopy.
  7. Calibrate lab instrumentation as necessary.
  8. Conduct standardized testing to qualitative and quantitative testing to ensure raw materials and products meet specifications.
  9. Recognize deviances in work flow and/or products being tested and initiate proper follow up.
  10. Interact in a professional manner with manufacturing and sales personnel.
  11. Compile and interpret results of tests and analyses.
  12. Proficiency with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) including but not limited to results, observations and technical reports.
  13. Prepare chemical solutions for products and processes following standardized formulas.
  14. Maintain and clean laboratory instruments and equipment.
  15. Order and inventory materials in order to maintain supplies.
  16. Conduct programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards of raw materials, chemical intermediates, and products.
  17. Be able to present findings to Executive Committee and customers.
Minimum Qualifications:

·        Bachelors degree in Chemistry.

·        Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

·        One to five years of hands on work experience with lab procedures, equipment and various chemical compounds.

·        Ability to work independently.

·        Understanding of general laboratory etiquette, excellent trouble shooting and communication skills required.

·        Organized and detail oriented.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
